Ecobricks are autoclaved concrete bricks, a material that offers a unique combination of strength, low density, thermal insulation, fire resistance and unprecedented ease of construction. Originally developed in Sweden in the 1920’s, and extensively in Europe, the USA and Asia, autoclaved concrete bricks are now produced in Canning Vale by Advanced Concrete Technologies, a 100% Australian company. Ecobricks are perfect for the Australian conditions. Internal walls that are not only strong, but have the capacity to insulate against extremes in temperature, while acting as a buffer against noise at the same time. The ecobrick can be used externally when the surface is protected with render or paint. Ecobrick can be used in combination with other building materials and is an ideal companion in reverse veneer wall systems.
