Previously trading as Pioneer Building Products and Besser Masonry (in Qld), the company went through a re-branding process to Hanson on the 1st July, 2004. Change to the Hanson brand was the next appropriate step since Hanson bought Pioneer in 2000. Hanson is an international building materials company. Hanson Building Products now trades in Queensland as Hanson Masonry. Hanson has a proud history in the Queensland market and is the largest supplier of concrete masonry products in the state. Hanson Building Products also operate a joint venture with Burrell Mining under the name of Hanson Burrell Mining Services that produces products specifically used in the mining industry in Queensland and New South Wales. The most popular product is the “Can” which is used as a support pillar in coal mines. In addition to this Hanson Burrell provide solutions to ventilation stopping and seals. Plants are located in Sydney and Mackay.
