Matrix Industries Pty Ltd was formed in 1985 to manufacture and market a range of patented and design registered products for the building industry. As the Building Code of Austrtalia (BCA) gradually recognised the issues relating to noise and vibration in domestic and commercial buildings, Matrix Industries developed and produced solutions to reduce acoustic and vibration transfer in buildings. Matrix Industries now offers a range of resilient wall ties, isolated wall brackets, floor and ceiling mounts as well as whole room and building solutions.

Matrix Wall Ties

Matrix ties are rated as medium duty in tests conducted by the CSIRO for compliance with AS 2699.2000 Part 1 - MB01 Wall Ties.

The ties acoustically isolate the inner and outer leaves of a masonry wall with no compromise in strength compared to conventional rigid ties. Matrix ties can transmit the maximum wind loads whilst accommodating differential movement of the brick or blockwork.

The ties are made in two halves and joined with a lightly compressed foam. This allows a significant reduction in airborne noise, impact noise and structure borne vibration. Conventional ties transmit noise and vibration from one side of a wall to the other as many owners of apartments can testify.

Matrix wall ties are used successfully throughout Australia in cinemas, recording studios, motels, lecture rooms, laboratories, airports, music and drama facilities, sporting complexes, offices, apartments and dedicated home entertainment areas.

Matrix Industries is now developing a range of resilient and remedial wall ties for the building industry including wide gap masonry wall ties, stud and batton isolating ties, ceiling mounts, as well as distributing a range of remedial ties and crack stitching ties.
